We had rented one room with an outside courtyard, and they even gave us the option to check other rooms to see which was our favorite. Our room had a Southeast Asian style courtyard with a wonderful soaking tub. Truly a 10/10 stay all around. The hotel is also excellently located for exploring the center of Kunming, with great shopping and food within short walking distance. Highly recommend!"

"We are writing this review while staying in this hotel now. We have traveled from Feilai Shangrila a 5-6 hours drive and a 4.5 hr train very tired and sleepy at 11pm but were greeted with good service at the reception and was happy that the reception staff said that she will UPGRADE us to a better room and also mentioned their best room. They also mentioned that they are doing this so that we can write them good review. We were so happy, but when we opened our so-called “better room” we were greeted with a room with an opened window and smelled like someone just smoked in the room. Though the room is big I checked what I have booked and realized that it is still the same size same type of room that I have booked no upgrade at all as mentioned by the staff. The so-called “smart toilet” can only flush in different way but no bidet washing function which are available in many other hotel. I was disappointed that if they mentioned there is an upgrade, then they should give me a better room but yet we were given a less than normal room that we have booked. We were disappointed and tired to ask to make any changes. By the way the toilet will flood after our shower. It’s mentioned in the features of this room to have rain shower but we are getting a spray shower that spray towards the glass door and cause water to flow toward the door making it slippery and dangerous. I will not recommend this hotel as there are many other better hotel that is cheaper yet offer better updated features in the room."

"Very nice hotel, we have stayed here twice now. There is so much attention to detail in the decor around the hotel and courtyard, it’s so peaceful you forget you are in the city. Staff are very kind and helpful, especially helping with luggage. There are many nice extras like tea tasting and afternoon tea but the breakfast was real star of the show - we recommend trying the Yunnan special ‘crossing the bridge rice noodles’. We will stay here again next time we are in Kunming."

The location of this hotel is 10/10- there’s a food street just outside the hotel (many halal options), famous milk tea chains (山山茶茶，上山喝茶）, shopping malls, and 南屏街. The convenience of the location is its greatest selling point. The hotel was clean, slightly small but tolerable, and many amenities were included. Overall, it’s perfect for a short stay in Kunming."

"Solid old-school hotel with an incredible location right by the lake. For the price it’s decent tho I might stay somewhere a little nicer next time. Breakfast is acceptable but acoustics in the restaurant are horrible - super noisy. Also the gym is just bizarre but usable and they need to keep the AC on. Pool was under construction so you might wanna call ahead if that’s important to you."

The room is very clean, and the facilities are complete, all controlled by a smart speaker. The bedding is white and very clean. There are many places to eat nearby, which is very convenient. In the evening, there are many night market stalls, creating a great atmosphere, suitable for casual gatherings. Highly recommended."

The room Aircon wasn't cold. The manager on duty said they did not have any other room for us. However, our tour lead from 深中旅遊 阿濤 sorted it out for us in no time. Subsequently, the hotel staff Neo, Lisa and Malik did a great job on service recovery and made our trip whole again. We highly commend their hospitality and awesome attitude. I will stay at Zhong Wei again as long as they are here."

Surroundings: The view from the window was pleasant, with the Western Hills in the distance and Dianchi Lake nearby! Summary: Overall, I was very satisfied. It was a great stay and travel experience! If you're looking to visit Dianchi Lake and its surroundings, this hotel is, all things considered, an excellent choice!"

They offer wide spread of breakfast choices which includes the famous Yunnan bridge noodle. I'll definitely stay in this hotel again if I'm travelling to Kunming again next time."
